1. I’m writing because I want to be a good writer someday soon. Good thing I have many grammar nazi friends. In my opinion Manong Willie Girao, Beng Alba, Aleks Tan, Rhiza Sanchez okaaay and Xaris Tamayo are the most gifted Filipino writers in our time.
2. My real name is Ivy Joyce. My mom and dad are the only people who calls me by my whole name and normally when they do that I have to run and run fast. BWHAHAHA. Close friends call me Bijoi (Bee-djoy). I have to use a nickname during one of the summer camps that I attended since there are 3 of us are almost the same names: IVY, IVY JOY and me IVY JOYCE. KAMUSTA?!!!
I’ve been using my self-made nickname since then.
3. I laugh as if I’m the only person in the room. My temperament changes almost every month. Its either Sanguine-Choleric or Choleric-Sanguine. I lost tract after the 10th time I took the test.
4. I judge books by their covers. If the cover is not attractive, I won’t pick it up from the bookshelf UNLESS it was written by one of my favorite authors. I was influenced by the gifted and creative graphic artists of OMF Literature Inc.
I loove love books. I love the books of Manong Willie Girao, John Piper, Candice Watters, Karen Kingsbury, Joshua Harris, John Eldredge, Randy Alcorn, Max Lucado, Mitch Albom, Nicholas Sparks and Mary Clark Higgins to name a few.
5. I have a new found love called photoshop. I thought I lost the interest in arts and photography until I was introduced to it. BWHAHAHA.
6. I prefer Starbucks over any other coffee shops. I’m torn between Jollibee and Mcdonalds and I think Sunday is a beautiful name. And even I have a hard time getting up in the morning I still choose dawn over sunsets.
7. I love events and weddings. When I was a kid I’d rather participate in an Oration or practice for a glee club concert than attend classes. Yes, I work at the wedding industry and the soon-to-be-brides become my BFFs.
8. I am engaged to a wonderful man who loves God. He is the most compassionate and kindest person with tattoos that I met ala Vin Diesel (okay I’m biased!). Someday we’ll have our own pink house, a red Ferrari, twins named B1 and B2 and a golden retriever named Jetlag.
9. I am blessed with a church who is fully submitted to God. A Bible study group with lifelong friends, the Rabbi himself and the Rabbi’s wife as our disciplers and we call ourselves Thursday Group, simply because we meet every Thursdays. haha! And Yes, I love this family of God <3
10. I live and breathe by and through God’s grace. I am a Christian, and I don’t say that to boast nor to make light of my calling but I believe that “FOR the wages of sin is death but the GIFT of GOD is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 6:23
I grew up in a Christian family, this has, in one way affected my decision to be Christ’s disciple. But after surrendering my life to the Lordship of God, I came to understand that all what He wanted is a deeper relationship with me.
I am not perfect and I don’t claim to be. You may read allot of my flaws in my blog but when I say I surrender to Christ’s Lordship, I mean taking up my cross to follow Him, believing “that the one who began a good work in me will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Phil 1:6
