I’m not really good at blog challenges. But I shall attempt again sometime soon.

Today, I got two new e-mails that made my day.

Is this THE Hayley DiMarco?

YES!!!! WAAAAHHH!

One of my favorite authors, Hayley Dimarco, is following me on Pinterest. Woooowww! I’m honored.

This afternoon, I got an e-mail from my soon-to-be mother-in-law. I was asking her some of the traditions of the family that she might want us to include in our wedding. I also told her that her ideas are very welcome and I want their family to be involve in anyway that they can. I was waiting for list of things that she has in mind specially that her eldest son is about to get married, instead I got this:

     Hi Ivy, Something old, something new and something borrowed. That is the tradition for a bride here. I don’t know if that is true in your country. But in my opinion those things are not important. To be married in the eyes of God is all that matters. Marriage is a very delicate thing. You have to be willing to put a lot of work into it if you want to grow old together. There will always be challenges Ivy. Marriage is taken very lightly in the times that we are living in. If you and Angel want this forever, you must work very hard for it. Nothing worth while comes easy. Eventually it will not be about you and Angel only, then comes the little ones, which in itself is a tremendous responsibility. The work is never over. Marriage is a beautiful thing but it can turn out to be a painful thing if we don’t work on it on a daily basis with our Lord in our lives. Other then that I am still recovering. My doctor tells me it will take at least 3 months. As far as a family member attending the wedding, that remains to be unseen. As much as that is something we would love, it is very expensive and at this time we don’t know. Everyone in this family is living from week to week. Overall the important thing is that you and Angel to marry in the eyes of our LORD. Love, Talk to you soon! Mom

I was crying when I finished reading her e-mail. I know that my Mom Carmen is an extraordinary woman because together with dad, they raised the super-wonderful godly man (yes, handsome too. haha.) that I’m about to marry. Her email to me made me feel more loved and welcomed in their family with or without their physical presence when the fiance’ and I finally get married.

They say that a wedding is not just a union of two individuals but two families as well. I’m blessed that I will be a part of their wonderful family and like an icing on a cake, I’ll have Mom Carmen for a mother-in-law.

Please don’t ask me what I was thinking. I was only 4 when this shot was taken. HAHAHAHA.

I think I was in grade 2 when I first saw Superman that was played by Christopher Reeve. WAAAAAAHHH! It was crush at first sight. hahaha. I used to rant at my seatmate in high school how I will go to the US and find Christopher Reeve. (Stalker much? hahaha.) Few year after we saw each other (my classmate and I), and he said, “Grabe ka nun Ivy, inlab ka kay Superman. hahaha.” As if he really existed in my world ‘no.

But He is soooo pogi, specially when he portrays Clark Kent.

But I’d rather have someone I know and close to my heart.

I would love to trade places with my very own discipler.

My discipler is a super pastor’s wife, super mom and super in-love with the Lord. Not to mention she’s super kikay and super pretty.

Her advises are always practical and biblical. And I love love her heart to reach out and spread the Word of God.

Well I might not be able to trade places with her even for one day. But when I grow up I will be like her.

1. Out of town trips with OMFLit pips

One of the best memories I had with my former job was going out of town. I remember going to Baguio almost every year because of the events that we had. Then we went to Boracay and Banaue for our company retreats.

2. Dormitory Days

When SBCC was literally home. And my adopted sisters Brianne, Ate Ruth, May and A. Jing were my roommates. Bonding during night time was made possible by our sponsors Lucky Me Pancit Canton and Nestle Iced Tea. I dont have a picture with them right now. But I shall have one soon. *ehem, ehem*

3. Singapore Trip

Twas my first time to go abroad. Nay, Tay, may tatak na po ang passport ko. hahaha

4. TG and Lerma

Just like hers. Gaya-gaya ganon.

5. Him <3 and the memories of 2009. Naks may ganon. haha.

6. On top of my list I think nothing still beats

Thank You God for bringing me back to the heart of worship I live for You alone.

And it was worth it.

But along the way comes another dream job.

Barista mother and child hahaha.

I told my cousin in the US that it was hard getting a barista job here in manila coz everyone, well atleast almost everyone think its a cool job.  And almost everyone wants to apply for the job. (I think its a cool job! And the Starbucks baristas are my bffs. ) She said, if I’m in the US she can get me that job in a minute but she doubt if I can last a second. HAHAHA. Oh well.

Someday soon, I’m going to own my own cafe just so I can be a barista.

How I met your mother is like a barkada to me

I can’t remember when I started watching this. Jasper was the one who insisted that I should watch the show. And he started quoting Barney (played by Neil Patrick Harris aka Doogie Howser M.D.), bestfriend of Ted, the main character.

I think How I Met Your Mother is the new Friends. I like its story line and Barney is the ultimate legen…wait for it…dary.

No wonder when my church friends and I talk its as if the characters of this show exists in real life.

  I was just telling my office mates the other day that  after my cousin’s wedding I will have my hair cut and I  want it really short. I’ve been wanting to cut my hair.  Dala siguro ng stress kaya buhok ang  pinagdidisketahan.

So this morning I noticed a sign across our shop that says FREE HAIRCUT FOR THE FIRST 50  HEADS.

YOOON!

So during lunch break I went there and alas pang number 41 ako I changed my mind about cutting my hair really short, since I still have to attend one more wedding this year. BUTTTT I think I lost a kilo after my hair cut . I feel “betterer”.

Grabe pati yang mga ganyang simpleng kahilingan e pinagbigyan  ng Lord. *Tambling tambling*.

Thank You Lord, for making me smile today.

BUFF BARBERS is now open at the 5th floor of Mega Atrium. Hahaha at hindi lang sila mga barbero meron ding hair cutters for women. OKAYYY?!!!

1. I confess, I am a caffeine  addict.   I’m so sorry.

2. I used to hate high heeled shoes. Now I can compromise.

3. Baguio is my happy place.

4. I want to be a photographer, lay out artist, videographer, script writer and own an invitation company or events styling company. Sooo many dreams, so little time.

5. My so-called dreams may change depending on the number of cups of coffee I had.

6. I like reading blogs.

7. I have my ever reliable N70 since 2007. Cool no?

8.  I’m grateful that everyday I wake up and gets another opportunity to be loved by God and to be used by Him.

9. I used to be a super friendly and super sanguine person, now, slight nalang. hahaha. And its super fine with me.

10. I have hopes and super many dreams. But God has the ultimate say . And I’m super happy that although sometimes I think I am, but I’m not in control.
